The T2 Design team has once again stood out with their artistic creativity! They took home first prize at the 2015 CONSAC National Vehicle Wrap Design Competition in Toronto, organized by the Canadian Sign Association SAC-ACE.

T2 Design’s visual was selected as a semi-finalist to represent vinyl manufacturer Arlon on event day. During the competition, the three shortlisted designs were printed and fully wrapped onto three 2016 Acura TLX vehicles. A jury, made up of 75% public voters, then chose the best graphic design.
True to the company’s slogan, “UNE IMAGE QUI FRAPPE ! (AN IMAGE THAT STRIKES!”), the graphic design by Eric Turmel, co-owner and project lead at T2 Design, won first place in the competition.

The showcased visual originates from an internal project produced in June 2013 and installed on the company’s promotional vehicle, a MAZDA RX8. This project was created to demonstrate the precision and expertise of both the graphic design and installation departments.

The Complexity of the Visual
The design presented at the competition featured several extreme challenges. First, each of the vehicle’s four sides displays a different graphic that fits together perfectly—an approach inspired by drift cars. Next, a shading effect was created on the driver and passenger sides to emphasize the depth of the air intake. The vinyl had to be installed with exact precision along the vehicle’s creases to achieve a convincing and successful effect.
Since the text on the sides was integrated directly into the print, the graphic had to be perfectly aligned so the text appeared straight once the installation was complete. Finally, the hood and trunk were fully wrapped in seamless 3D carbon fiber vinyl.

T2 Design’s promotional vehicle is undoubtedly one of the most striking wrap graphics in Canada!
